KOMITMEN NDPE PT YUNI BERSAUDARA SEJAHTERA

Sebagai perusahaan yang berkomitmen terhadap keberlanjutan dan etika bisnis yang baik, PT Yuni Bersaudara Sejahtera dengan ini menyatakan komitmen terhadap prinsip No Deforestation, No Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE). Komitmen ini merupakan bagian dari tanggung jawab kami untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan menghormati hak-hak sosial serta kesejahteraan seluruh pihak yang terlibat dalam rantai pasokan kami.

Dengan komitmen ini, PT Yuni Bersaudara Sejahtera bertekad untuk berperan aktif dalam menciptakan masa depan yang lebih baik, baik bagi lingkungan, masyarakat, maupun ekonomi secara keseluruhan.

SUSTAINABLE OIL PALM POLICY PT. YUNI BERSAUDARA SEJAHTERA

Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all the palm oil related operations of PT. Yuni Beraudara Sejahtera, its subsidiaries, joint ventures and companies over which it has management control. PT. Yuni Beraudara Sejahtera. would also require all its business dealings, trading and sourcing of oil palm, palm kernel, and palm derivatives to comply with this policy. This policy is applicable to all direct and indirect suppliers.

Yuni Beraudara Sejahtera. is committed to ensure that its products are produced in a sustainable manner. 

Therefore PT. Yuni Beraudara Sejahtera. has committed not to source Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB), Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Palm Kernel Nut (PKN), Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) from mill, company group and areas known to have cleared (deforestation) or replaced areas of:

  • High Conservation Value as defined by the High Conservation Value Resource Network (HCVRN) within existing and new plantation developments.
  • High Carbon Stock as defined by the High Carbon Stock Approach (HCSA) within existing and new plantation developments.
  • No New plantings on Peat land regardless of depth. 
    – Employ Best Management Practices for existing plantations on peatlands. 
    – Where feasible, explore options for peat restoration when oil palm cultivation is no longer suitable.
  • No usage of Fire to for any form of land preparation.

Furthermore suppliers of PT. Yuni Beraudara Sejahtera shall:

  • Respect employees’ rights granted by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations; and the International Bill of Human Rights.
  • Respect and uphold the rights of all workers, including temporary workers, subcontractor workers and migrant workers with the International Labour Organisation’s core conventions, United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the principles of Free and Fair Labour in Palm Oil Production as guidance.
  • Prohibit the use of forced or bonded labour or human trafficking or modern slavery aligned with ILO Convention 29.
  • Prohibit the employment of child & prison labour
  • Ensure there are no restrictions on worker’s freedom of movement and freedom of association and their right to collective bargaining. 
  • Practice No Recruitment Fee policy within statutory conditions and conduct Ethical Recruitment and Due Diligence of recruitment agents and processes. 
  • Prohibit any unlawful and illegal deductions from any part of workers’ wages and withholding any identification cards, passports or other travel documents unless provided for by law.
  • Ensure all workers are paid a wage equal based on work completed or exceeding the legal minimum wage and are covered for work related illness and injuries. Workers shall not be required to perform overtime in order to achieve the local minimum wages. 
  • Ensure compliance to minimum working hours, inclusive of overtime (accepted voluntarily) and weekly day rest in accordance to prevailing local legislation. 
  • Zero tolerance of any type of abuse (physical, sexual and emotional) harassment, intimidation or violence and discrimination against any worker based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, nationality, ancestry, sex, gender, political opinions or any other status protected by law. This is also applicable for vulnerable groups and children. 
  • Respect, uphold and recognize the rights of indigenous and local communities and their right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC).
  • Ensure all employees are given in writing, in a language they understand/native language, their job description, rate of pay, working hours, weekly day rest and other application benefits. 

Legal Compliance

  • Compliance with all relevant national and local laws and ratified international laws and that international best practices are adopted or as guidance.
  • Zero tolerance for corruption, bribery, violence, or any form of intimidation and criminalization

Health & Safety

  • Meeting national Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards for the entire workforce

Grievance

  • Resolve verifiable complaints, grievances and conflicts though an open and transparent consultative process.
  • In this respect, stakeholders are invited to contact sustainability@ybspalmoil.com to lodge their concern.
  • We do not tolerate threats, intimidation, or attacks against human rights defenders, and are mindful certain groups, including women and children, may be particularly vulnerable to negative human rights impacts in the locations where we operate.

All non-compliant land use change for new plantation developments from 31 December 2015 shall;

  • Immediately halt all planting activities and/or implement an immediate management directive Stop Work Order on non-compliant development areas.
  • Acknowledge liability and implement an immediate group-wide moratorium to rectify the subject allegation e.g. land clearing, peat clearing, labour exploitation.
  • Publish a group wide NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) policy to reassure commitment.
  • Formalize engagement with a reputable third-party consultant, produce a time-bound action plan towards recovery to ensure appropriateness, effectiveness as well as compliance. 

We would also promote the inclusion of smallholders into our palm oil supply chains; and facilitate their compliance with our policy through capacity building and stakeholder engagements. 

Core to our policy is to create a transparent supply chain with full traceability. We recognize the need for consultation in our journey and will therefore regularly communicate our progress to and engage with our stakeholders. 

Implementation and complianc

Yuni Bersaudara Sejahtera will commit to an action plan that will outline actions which will be taken to achieve the commitments in this policy in full by 31 Dec 2025
